what do these courses offer?
They provide informed and prepared potential recruits for the Armed Forces, Police, Prison, Fire and Ambulance services as well as developing life skills and personal qualities suitable for all areas of employment. It is also the basis for further study and motivation towards career development in the uniformed services.
what will i study?
This course contains compulsory and optional units incorporating the following subjects:
ncfe level 2
functional skills
Through your studies you will be given the opportunity to improve and receive certification of your functional skills in Communication and Maths. Note that functional skills, which are compulsory, are nationally recognised qualifications that will not only improve your employability skills but they may also assist your university application by attracting, additional UCAS points.
what entry qualifications will i need?
The course structure allows continuous progression with successful completion of each level and an interview before acceptance onto the next level. Previously obtained or additional qualifications and experience will be taken into consideration during applications.
how long is the programme?
1 year
how will I be assessed?
Successful completion of 6 mandatory units plus 2 optional units.
Candidates will have to provide an extensive portfolio of evidence which is both internally and externally moderated.
what will it cost?
All costs will be discussed at interview. Students under 19 do not pay tuition or exam fees.
